Each is a nest site rather than a travel route, and treating them is a different job from placing bait in a ceiling.
It also changes the exclusion advice. Sealing a roof line achieves nothing against a species working at ground level. What matters here is subfloor vent condition, the gap under a garage door, air vents at ground level, and any void under a slab or path that a burrow can exploit.
