What pest control costs in Auckland
Published ranges for every treatment we carry out, with an honest account of what moves a job within its range.
The short answer
Most Auckland residential pest jobs land between $130 and $480. Wasp nests start around $130, ant and flea work sits in the $145 to $360 range, rodent programmes run $185 to $700 depending on how established the population is, and bed bug treatment is the outlier at $580 to $1,600 because it is a staged programme rather than a visit.
We publish ranges because we would rather you knew roughly what you are in for before you call, and because a business that will not indicate price until someone is standing in your kitchen is usually relying on that.
The ranges are genuine. What moves a job within its range is the size of the building, how many harbourage points have to be covered, whether access is straightforward, and how established the population is. What moves it outside the range is a job that turns out to be substantially unlike what you described, and if that happens we tell you before continuing rather than afterwards on the invoice.

Variables
What changes the number

Extent, not floor area
A three bedroom house with one rat in the ceiling costs less than a two bedroom unit with an established population in the subfloor, the wall cavity and the roof. We price the problem rather than the square metres.

Whether a follow-up is biologically required
German cockroach and bed bug work includes return visits because the egg stage survives treatment. That is built into the quoted figure rather than added afterwards.

Access
A roof space with one small hatch and no walkway, a subfloor closed off during a renovation, or a nest above first floor level all take longer and are priced accordingly.

Whether the method has to change
Households with pets, young children or active community trapping in the street often need trapping rather than bait, which takes more visits and is priced for that.

Documentation
Rental and commercial jobs include written reporting as standard. Food premises programmes with station mapping and audit records are quoted separately because they are ongoing rather than one-off.

Pricing questions
Is there a call-out charge?
Not for standard residential quoting. Where the inspection is itself the service, for example confirming a bed bug infestation, there is a charge of $140 to $190 and it comes off the treatment price if the work proceeds.
Is the quoted price the price I pay?
Yes, unless what we find on site differs substantially from what you described when we quoted, and in that situation we stop and talk to you before continuing. We do not add to an invoice after the fact.
Do you do annual contracts for houses?
We generally advise against them for ordinary residential properties, because most households do not need scheduled treatment and are better served by sorting the exclusion work once. Properties on reserve boundaries with continuous rodent pressure are the genuine exception, and there a maintained programme makes sense. Commercial premises are different again, as food businesses need ongoing documented servicing.
How do I pay?
EFTPOS, credit card or bank transfer. Residential work is invoiced on completion, commercial programmes are invoiced to whatever cycle suits your accounts.
