Every job begins with identification, because the species determines the method and getting that wrong is the reason most pest problems recur. A clear photo of the insect, the droppings or the damage is often enough for us to tell you what you have before anyone visits.

Species, extent, and how it is getting in. This is the part that decides everything that follows.

The reason for all this
Why we spend so long on identification
Nearly every failed pest treatment we are called in to fix failed for the same reason. Something was treated as a generic category rather than as a species, and the method that followed was wrong for the animal actually present.
A German cockroach and a Gisborne cockroach need opposite responses, one a gel baiting programme and the other a door seal. Argentine ants get worse when sprayed with the products that work adequately on some other ants. Ship rats and Norway rats live at opposite ends of a building, so bait placed for one is ignored by the other. A flea treatment that does not account for the pupal stage looks like a failure two weeks later when it was actually working.
None of this is obscure. It is simply the difference between a trade carried out properly and a spray applied on arrival, and it is why our first visit takes longer than you might expect.

Questions we are asked most
How quickly can someone come out?
For most work we are looking at two to four working days across the Auckland region. Wasp nests are treated faster, usually same day or next morning, because the risk is immediate rather than gradual, and we hold daily capacity for that. If a nest is beside a doorway, over a path or near where children play, say so when you call.
Do you charge to come and look?
For most residential jobs, no. Where identification itself is the service, for example confirming whether bites are bed bugs or something else, there is an inspection charge and it is credited against treatment if the work goes ahead.
What areas do you cover?
The wider Auckland region: the central isthmus, the North Shore, east Auckland through Howick and Botany, south to Papakura, and west through Henderson and Titirangi. If your suburb is not listed, call and tell us the street, because the boundary is about travel time rather than a map.
Are the products safe around children and pets?
Everything we use is approved for the purpose and applied to label directions, in targeted placements rather than broadcast across living areas. Rodent bait goes into lockable tamper-resistant stations. Where there are pets, young children, fish tanks or birds, tell us before the visit and we will change the method rather than work around it. In households with pets we often recommend trapping instead of bait.
Will one visit sort it?
Depends entirely on the pest. Wasp nests and most ant jobs, generally yes. German cockroaches, no, because the egg case survives treatment and a follow-up inside the hatch window is part of the job. Rodents usually need verification. Bed bugs need a staged programme over several weeks. We tell you which category you are in before we start rather than after.
Can you provide records for a rental property or a food business?
Yes, and for both it is standard rather than an extra. Rental jobs get a dated report describing what was found, where and what caused it, which is what tenancy disputes turn on. Food premises get a numbered station map, dated service records and product documentation built to be handed to a verifier.
Do you treat honey bees?
No. A swarm hanging in a tree is temporary and will be collected free by a beekeeper who wants it, and an established colony inside a wall needs a bee removal specialist who will take out the comb as well. Killing a colony in a cavity leaves honey behind that ferments and leaks through the lining. Send a photo and we will tell you which you have.
